For “The Divine Feminine,” our content will explore themes that celebrate, interrogate, and illuminate the multifaceted power, spirit, and mystery of feminine energy. Below, you’ll find a a breakdown of potential open mic content focus areas that will guide your immersion into storytelling and performance aspects of our show.

A. Power & Ancestry

  • Matriarchal lineage, ancestral wisdom, and sacred traditions

  • Spotlight on Black, Indigenous, and global spiritual mother figures

  • Mythology and folklore (Yemaya, Oshun, Lilith, Kali, etc.)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Divine Feminine features two dynamic sets of poetry and performance, each spotlighting up to 9 artists. There is a 10-minute intermission between the sets to refresh and connect.

  • Yes — we welcome performers of all backgrounds, but priority will be given to women-identifying artists. If you'd like to perform, simply purchase an online ticket in advance. After purchase, you’ll be prompted to select your preferred set and slot on the performance list (first come, first served).

  • You may perform original work or pieces by other artists, as long as the original author is clearly credited during your introduction.

  • Each performer will have a maximum of 4 minutes to share their piece. This helps us honor everyone's time and maintain the flow of the show.

  • Yes — we encourage all work to reflect, embody, or respond to the theme: “The Divine Feminine.” This could include love, motherhood, resistance, sensuality, spirituality, healing, ancestry, and more.

  • Absolutely! We encourage everyone to experience the magic. You don’t need to be on the mic to be moved by the night.

  • Yes — but as this is a celebration of feminine energy, women performers receive priority placement. Remaining slots will be open to all after priority registration closes.
